Faith is so important! Read Alma 32 and find out how you can grow your own!
Hello! I am so excited for all the things that happened this week and all the things that will happen this week! I have felt so inspired to work harder and to have more faith in the Lord to help me acheive the goals I've set. A couple weeks ago our mission president shared with us his Vision for the Mission, which is to double the total baptisms in the mission within the next three months! It's so awesome! And of course to reach a big goal like that, we have to set smaller goals and work harder every day to meet them. We were asked in our last Zone Training to share the Vision for the Mission in Ward Counsel, and it was an awesome experience! afterward there was a wonderful outpouring of support and excitement and it was just amazing! The members in this ward are so awesome and involved in the missionary work here, I definately feel spoiled. :) I admonish you (encourage you ;) ) to be involved with the missionaries in your ward, offer to go to lessons with them, offer them rides, know what the rules are so you can help them to be obedient, give them referrals, and referrals don't have to be people that are ready to be baptized next week! It's your friends, your family members, anyone you know that doesn't have the gospel in their lives. Think about how happy it makes you, and resolve to share it by sending the missionaries! They need you in order to be successful!
Over this past week I've gained such a testimony of the Lord guiding us to people. And of walking. When you're driving it's hard to talk to everyone you see because you have to worry about finding a place to park and looking like a staulker, but with walking it's just so much easier. Just yesterday we decided to walk to a potential's house, but they weren't home and we were walking back to our car, and I decided to go a more round-about way and we ended up meeting two people who were interested in meeting with us and we invited them both to be baptized! It was awesome! (Awesome seems to be my favorite word again...) I know that the Lord was leading us that day, and that He will lead us every day, every moment, if we just stop and listen, then work hard to do what He asks of us.
We get an email from our mission president every week, and this quote was in the one for this week. "God does not begin by asking us about our ability, but only about our availability, and if we prove our dependability, he will increase our capability!" A lot of '-ility's, but that means to me that what we start out with, our abilities, don't matter to him. It's what time we're willing to give to him, our willingness to carry out what he asks of us, and through that we become capable of all things. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13
I love the gospel, I love being able to share it with others, I love seeing my own testimony grow as I learn and help others to accept the Savior Jesus Christ more fully in their lives. I love seeing people change.
I love you all, and I hope you have a great week!
