So... remember last week when I said I'd be emailing on Tuesday... surprise!

O
Sister Phillips and Sister Batchelor
ur time for the temple got changed so it'll be either next week or the week after that I'll email on a different day. So... expect the unexpected! Or expect nothing at all, and then you'll be pleasantly surprised again! Haha!

Some really funny things happened this week, at least I thought they were really funny, let's see if you all agree with me. On Friday me, my companion, and the four elders in our district were doing service at an assisted living place, and a few of the patients had dementia. We took them all outside for a walk, and one of the elders picked a flower and gave it to one of the ladies with dementia, saying "Look at this pretty flower!" She said "Ooh, pretty," twirled it around in her fingers, then took a bite out of it. We were busting a gut trying not to laugh, it was hilarious!

Then me and my companion were teaching a less active man, and he was talking about how it's easy for us young people to get into sin and all the bad things of the world, and then he said "For us older folks, we just get grumpy and re-write our will", and for some reason I thought that was the funniest thing I had ever heard in a long time, like that's he worst thing an old person can do is write you out of their will, haha!

So, judge for yourselves if those things were actually funny, or if I am just in a funny mood this week.

This week has been a bit rough, but we finally got some answers about Sister Phillips' health issues and we'll be trying some things to get her on the mend! We actually taught 29 lessons total this week, which is awesome! I think it will continue to improve as we continue to be obedient, invite the Spirit, and strive to do the Lord's will. I love being a missionary and I love being able to share my testimony and help others to gain their own. It's the best thing ever!

Hope you all have a  wonderful week, don't forget to tell your mothers 'Happy Mother's Day', and don't be afraid to open your mouth and share what you know to be true! Luv ya!

Another day another... day.

Haha, just kidding, I love it out here, the members, the investigators, the people we meet on the street, the less active members, they're all great! I just know I'm supposed to be here and that there are people here that I'm supposed to find and teach!

I hope you all have a great week and that you're looking for opportunities to share the gospel with others!

Just FYI, I'll be going to the temple next week, so I'll email on Tuesday instead of Monday!

Love ya!

Sister Batchelor and the Ward Mission Leader
People! I've been on my mission for six months! AAHHH!!! That's 1/3 of my mission life, gone... I'm not sure how I feel about it. It seems like it hasn't been that long, but then when I think of all the things that have happened since the start of my mission it is a lot!

Coeur d'Alene Idaho is so nice, it's a bit more rainy than I'm used to, but it's good. The people here are nice, mostly, we did have a door slammed in our face last week, but it's all part of the work. Our mission president said that we should be so excited when we face opposition, because that means we are like the sons of Mosiah from the Book of Mormon. They faced a lot of opposition, they were thrown in jail, they could have been killed, but after all that they had a lot of success in bringing people to Christ. I try to remind myself of that when people say that they don't want to listen.

We've been working with a 13 year old girl named S--, and she's getting baptized on Friday! Please pray for her that she will be able to, that her parents will allow it, and that she'll stay strong in the church afterwards! This will only be the second baptism of my mission, and again I feel like I haven't done much in teaching her, but she's awesome and I'm sure that she'll stay on the path.

We've been teaching a lot of kids, and they are the funniest! One little girl we taught, whenever we would ask her a question she would say "Um... Jesus?" It was her answer to everything, and really it is. Jesus Christ and His Atonement can answer and fix anything. Another boy we're teaching says the sweetest prayers you ever heard, he is preparing to be baptized in July. His parents were less active, but the missionaries found them and started teaching them, and now he's going to be baptized and his mom is preparing to go to the temple! It's so great to see all the blessing that come because of the Gospel.

I hope you have an awesome week and that you're preparing for General Conference! It's coming up very soon, and I'm so excited! Love you all!
